Fake pictures of Sridevi's body in Dubai hospital go viral

Bollywood legend Sridevi passed away last week in Dubai.

(Web Desk) – Viral pictures that some media outlets are claiming to be those of late Bollywood legend Sridevi’s body in Rashid Hospital of Dubai are fake, Dunya News learnt through Indian media on Monday.

Sridevi passed away last week in Dubai where she was accompanied by her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi Kapoor to attend a family wedding.

Arjun Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor’s cousin Mohit Marwah got married with Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter in a destination wedding in Dubai last week. Sridevi was reported to have passed away of cardiac arrest and some pictures of her body in a Dubai hospital that went viral were revealed to be fake.

Born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan, Sridevi worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films before entering Hindi films. She started acting in the late 1960s, but her performance in Malayalam film Poombata (1971) won her the state award for best child artist.

Sridevi made her Bollywood debut as a child artist in Julie (1975). Her first adult role was at the age of 13 in Tamil film Moondru Mudichu (1976). Sridevi went on to become one of the biggest female stars India ever had. The government of India awarded her Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour, in 2013.
