(Web Desk) – United Kingdom has nominated an Urdu feature film titled ‘My Pure Land’ as its official nominee for the 90th Oscars in foreign film category.

This is the first time ever that Britain is to enter the Oscars race with an Urdu film.

Directed by Sarmar Masud, the film revolves around a monther and her two daughters who take up arms in a remote village of Pakistan to fight off hundreds of bandits tasked by girls’ uncle to capture their house.

The film stars Suhaee Abro, Tayyab Ifzal, Salman Ahmed Khan, Eman Fatima and Razia Malik.

The 90th Oscars are to be held on March 4th, 2018 in Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles.
