LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court issued a written order on Thursday about the application against ‘Maalik’ movie ban. The ban was imposed by federal government after three weeks of its release.

The court ordered that ban on film Maalik was unlawful and the federal government has no right to put such a ban.

It must be noted here that previously in September 2016, Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza had given the verdict. Moreover, in April, sources told that the interior ministry had put a ban as the movie depicts story of corrupt chief minister. The movie was considered  decertified  under Section 9 of the ordinance.

It has also been stated by the Lahore High Court judge that nothing objectionable was found in the movie screening. The ban imposed by federal government on movie Maalik was unlawful.

Maalik was initially released on 8 April 2016. It is directed and produced by Ashir Azeem.
