LAHORE (Web Desk) – Aemon Targaryen of Game of Thrones (GoT), Peter Vaughan has died on Tuesday at 93 after earning a name and putting together a legacy of artistic contributions that will be remembered by many across the globe to say the least.
British actor Vaughan was a name that got millions of followers in theatre, television and films.
He breathed his last Tuesday morning surrounded by his family and friends, his agent said.
‘Targaryen’ worked alongside Frank Sinatra, Ronnie Barker and Sir Anthony Hopkins among many other notable names of the art industry. He is widely known for his character in ‘Porridge’ called ‘genial’though he appeared in no more than three episodes.
However, his portrayal of ‘Aemon Targaryen’ in hugely popular fantasy drama, Game of Thrones became the last best thing he was known for. He played a blind man in the hit telly series for five years.
The man had served in the Second World War during and was deployed in Normandy, Belgium among other stations.
It is a lesser known fact that late Vaughan did not get a break on small screen until 1959 when he was 30 years of age. Before that, the actor polished his craft in theatre for several years.
