LAHORE (Dunya News) – Accused in theatre actress Qismat Baig’s murder case, her friend, Rana Muzammil has confessed to the crime on Friday by saying that the victim refused to perform in Faisalabad.
In his confessional statement, Muzammil said that the plan was not to fatally shoot her but ‘teach her a lesson’ over refusal to perform in a theatre play in Faisalabad.
He hired criminals for the cause and paid them Rs 0.5 million.
The intention was to injure her and not shoot her dead, he added. Muzammil further told that he knew late Baig for around seven years.
However, Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) of Cantonment area has been tasked with further investigation of the case.
