For many young girls, it may seem like Barbie has seen and done it all. But now, Barbie has a new job. Barbie's 125th career was unveiled at the Toy Fair in New York. Barbie's latest job was chosen by young girls during an online voting campaign. Girls had the opportunity to choose from five careers: architect, computer engineer, environmentalist, news anchor and surgeon. Stephanie Cota, Senior Vice President of Barbie Marketing announced the winning job. We had over a half a million votes, as far-reaching from Angola to Zimbabwe. So really something that was heard around the world. Without further adieu, I am so thrilled to unveil Barbie's 125th career, News Anchor Barbie, said Cota. But the multi-talented over-achiever Barbie did not stop with just one job. Barbie's 126th career was also announced. The doll's 126th career was also chosen by an online poll, but in this vote everybody, young and old, male and female, got to participate. And the winning career was a computer engineer.
