LOS ANGELES, Jan 27, 2014 (AFP) - French electro duo Daft Punk on Sunday won the Grammys for best album and best record, in a triumph for the self-styled robots.

Daft Punk took home the best album Grammy for "Random Access Memories," beating out "The Blessed Unrest" by Sara Bareilles, "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City" by Kendrick Lamar, "The Heist" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and "Red" by Taylor Swift.

The helmeted performers also won record of the year and best pop duo/group performance for the dance sensation "Get Lucky."

"This is the most insane thing ever," songwriter Paul Williams said as he accepted the award, surrounded by the duo who rarely speak in public.
