A R Rahman spellbinds Sydney

The Oscar winning Indian music composer A R Rahman performed at a free concert in Parramatta Park in Sydneys western suburbs, Australia as part of Sydney Festival yesterday. Bollywood came to the Australian city of Sydney last night as tens of thousands of people turned out for a free concert by Indian musician A R Rahman. The composer of the film Slumdog Millionaire held the concert to help improve relations between Indians and Australians. A R Rahman's peace concert held as part of the Sydney Festival was designed to promote Australia as a safe, ethnically diverse and welcoming nation, after recent violent attacks against Indian students. Around 70 thousand people filled Parramatta Park to see the Bollywood composer, with his Oscar winning song Jai Ho bringing the crowd to their feet.
