The swashbuckling Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya walked the ramp in an ensemble of creations by Indian designer Wendell Rodricks during a fashion show in India's western city of Mumbai.The occasion was the launch of the Chivas Studio in India, a chain of global luxury brand items from the house of Chivas Regal. Goan designer Wendell Rodricks presented his collection 'On the Wings', with garments layered with feathered strokes and breezy fabrics. Models stood tall and pretty in the designer's collection, which was inspired by birds and had a colour palette consisting of only white. Using a variety of fabrics from cotton and silk to paper and latex the designer played with the garments unconventionally. The showstopper for the evening was not any celebrity from Bollywood but the veteran Sri Lankan all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya who walked the ramp in style wearing an elegant suit designed by Wendell. The cricketer was all praises for the designer and his collection after the show.It is very nice and comfortable.nice to wear all these. That's the way he has always been. So I love to wear his clothes. I was a bit nervous but Wendell Rodricks briefed me everything before, said Sanath Jayasuriya. The occasion also saw the participation of celebrated artistes from various fields like music, fashion, photography and others. A global property, the Chivas Studio was launched earlier in New York, London, Madrid and Sydney is now in India with Bangalore as its first stop. Apart from Bangalore and Mumbai, the other two cities hosting the Chivas Studio in India are New Delhi and Kolkata.
