Summary Director says he wants to wake youth up to even vote sensibly and develop political awareness.

MUMBAI (Web Desk) - Prakash Jha, a director, who is known for his socio-political cinema, is in the news for his upcoming flick  Satyagraha.  The director shares with TOI that  Satyagraha  "aims to engage youth in politics."

Ask him that does it mean he wants to show the need of young and dynamic politicians to come up and participate in Indian political system as his character Arjun in the film played by Arjun Rampal, he refuses.

"Engaging youth doesn t mean bringing them to politics, instead waking them up to even vote sensibly. I aim to make the nation think that democracy is  by  the people and  for  the people.

So, it is only their responsibility to take a call to make the nation and just not run away from it. Not voting or voting on the basis of social prejudices is not a solution."

On the inspiration of the movie, Jha comments, "the movie is inspired from the nation s middle class which is protesting against corruption in any which way they can and nothing beyond that."

Lets  hope that this attempt of one of our most influential directors of the industry finds its place among the audiences, as well as, at the box office.

Satyagraha, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Amrita Rao, is slated to release on August 30, 2013.
