ISLAMABAD (Online) - The famous folk artist from Punjab Sain Mushtaq has passed away.
A meeting of Lok Virsa officers was held here on Monday at Shakarparian wherein they paid rich tributes to the deceased for his meritorious services towards the promotion of Punjabi folk culture and music.
Talking to this scribe, Lok Virsa’s executive director Khalid Javaid expressed his deep sorrow on the sad demise of Sain Mushtaq and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest his soul in eternal peace and grant courage to his family to bear this irreparable loss.
“Sain Mushtaq was among a few folk artists in Pakistan who dedicated their entire lives for the promotion of folk music in Pakistan, Khalid Javaid said.
He was also instrumental in giving a new dimension of singing to the mystic songs.
He had been participating in Lok Virsa’s annual folk festivals known as Lok Mela since 1981 and winning recognition of his talent.
He also represented Pakistan in various important events/musical shows abroad and served to project the real cultural face and soft image of Pakistan abroad”.
