MUMBAI (Web desk) - A 16-year Bangladeshi student with no acting experience has been picked up to play the role of Pakistani schoolgirl and an activist for girl education Malala Yousufzai in a forthcoming movie about her work.

Malala was shot and almost killed by the Taliban for her undying enthusiasm to educate the girls in Swat. Later on, she underwent multiple surgeries in Pakistan and London.

Amjad Khan, an Indian film director confirmed that the girl from Dhaka will play the central figure in the movie, for which shooting is expected to start in the middle of July.

The film director Khan said that it is because of the security reasons that no photographs of Sheikh or other details are being released. He also said Fatima is a student and looks like Malala.

Talking to foreign media, Amjad Khan revealed that he located Sheikh through a friend in Bangladesh and that he went to Dhaka to carry out a screen-test, adding her parents insisted that her identity should not be revealed until the second half of filming.

Shooting of the film will take place in London, Pakistan, Iran and India, he added.
