Summary Director Indra Kumar has managed to get Rekha to play the protagonist in his next film, Super Nani.
NEW DELHI: The film, which also stars Sharman Joshi, Randhir Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Indra Kumar's daughter Shweta, is about a grandson inspiring his grandmother to do something worthwhile in life.
The director said, "The first person that came to my mind was Rekhaji. When I narrated the script to her, she agreed immediately. My film is about women empowerment and she has always projected that image. She had no reservations about playing a grandmother because her role is a lot of fun. I'm hoping to learn a thing or two from her. It is great fun working with Sharman as well."
The movie went on the floors on December 12 and will be completed with a two-month schedule in Mumbai.
Super Nani, produced by Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria's Maruti International, will release mid-2013.
