10,000 couples tie the knot in South Korea

The South Korean-based Unification Church holds a mass wedding and holy blessing for 10,000 couples from 120 countries. About 20,000 church followers, gathering at a college campus in Asan, south of Seoul, exchanged wedding rings. Mass weddings are one of the best-known and most controversial features of the Unification Church, which espouses trans-religion, trans-national, trans-racial harmony. 20,000 people were gathered on the lawn of Sun Moon University.
