Pop-singer Taylor Swift and King of Pop Michael Jackson have been nominated for the American Artist of the Year Award. In a Los Angeles ceremony, Paula Abdul and Sanoop Dogg announced the nominees for the annual music awards. Taylor Swift is nominated in six categories, Jackson in five, Eminem in four, Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Black Eyed Peas in three categories. Taylor Swifts album received the honor of bestselling album for 2008 and 2009 consecutively. Jacksons album witnessed a record sale addition after his death. Lady Gaga, Eminem and King of Leon are also contestants in the race of Artist of the Year Award. The winner will be decided by the online voting.
