Youth culture goes skin deep at Paris Tattoo Fair

Nothing gets under your skin like a tattoo - and the trend is increasing, say the organisers of the Tattoo Art Festival in Paris. No pain, no gain goes the old saying -- but this still holds true as seen at the Tattoo Art Festival in Paris. Organisers say there is an increase in younger people -- and women -- who are interested in tattoos. It is not just an increase in female customers, but also in the number of female tattoo artists. The designs ranged from traditional gothic Chinese styles to more modern and hip-hop-style graffiti and cartoons -- to be found on arms, legs and bodies around the fair. The cheapest styles start at around 50 euros, going up into the thousands for more complex complete body tattoos. But for many it is worth it: nothing gets under your skin like a tattoo.
