In a unique marriage in Dharamsala city of India, an ascetic tied the knot with an English woman. 63-year old ascetic, Baba Shankar Chand, got married to a 53-year old Hypnotist, Lacey Irena with traditional Hindu customs.Speaking to reporters, Irena said that she knew Shankar Chand very well and for long.Well we met quite a long time ago, and we have been together for quite a long time. We agreed to get married and we decided to apply for getting married, said Chand.Dharamsala has seen inter-religion marriages for quite sometime now. In the last four years, more than 600 such couples got hitched.Meanwhile, Shankar Chand said that he had decided to get married as he needed a friend and partner who would support him in old age.I live alone and when I grow older I would face problems, I need someone to take care of me and give me water. That is why I decided to get married at this age. We have been friends for a long time now, so we both thought that we should get married soon, said Shankar Chand.The couple had planned to get their distinctive marriage registered and settle down in Dharamsala.
