Summary Johnny Depp will appear as vampire in the Tim Burton feature film Dark Shadows.

Johnny Depps appearance in the upcoming Dark Shadows will mark the eighth feature film collaboration between him and director Tim Burton. The film, based on the popular 1960s/1970s gothic soap opera series of the same name, is due for release in May, and its trailer debuted Thursday (March 15).In Dark Shadows, Depp plays Barnabas Collins, a vampire awoken from a 200 year slumber in the year 1972, only to find himself in culture shock as he catches up with trends of the time like bellbottoms, lava lamps, and Barry White. The film is campy and dryly comedic in style, and also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Chloe Moretz, Eva Green, and Helena Bonham Carter, who is married to Tim Burton and has starred in several of his films opposite Depp.Depp and Burton previously worked together on 2010s Alice in Wonderland, and their first collaboration was for the 1990 film Edward Scissorhands.Dark Shadows will be released May 11.
