KP govt replaces BS programs with associate degrees in colleges

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to abolish BS programs in government colleges and replace them with Associate Degree Programs.
According to an official notification from the Education Department, several subjects in the BS programs have been declared unnecessary. As a result, BS degrees in various disciplines have been discontinued across 36 colleges in the province.
The list of discontinued programs includes subjects such as Pashto, Political Science, Urdu, Pakistan Studies, and others.
The notification further stated that enrollment in BS programs was low, while dropout rates were significantly high. To address this, market-relevant subjects will be introduced in place of the discontinued programs.
