The university has more than five thousand students who face problems to reach the university in absence of a proper transport system, said a news agency.Fatima Jinnah Women University is the only women university in the twin cities where mostly students come from different far flung areas and face a lot of problems.A large number of students are using private transport which has become a nightmare for them.Students also uses public transport system and face certain difficulties as only few seats are reserved for women while the number of women who travel to offices and educational institutes is in thousands.Often these female students are harassed by private transport drivers.Rizwana a student of MSc Mass communication said she can’t afford personal transport and use public transport which is too pathetic. We have to wait for hours to get a seat and transporters use long routes to get more passengers while they become late from university, she added.Huma, another student, said that university holds classes at different times in a week, therefore they have no other option but to hire own transport or use public transport. She said that these private transporters charge extra money. She demanded that university should arrange transport service for different intervals to facilitate the students.
