New university for FATA approved

Governor KP has approved a specialized university in addition to the FATA University.

 


PESHAWAR: Talking during a routine briefing on working of Cadet College, Razmak at Governor’s House, Peshawar on Tuesday, the Governor has further desired that any upgradation, new constructions and future expansion of the infrastructure facilities to meet the requirements of the cadets, should be developed in line with this futuristic approach.


The University would be established in a building being given free of cost that will be housed as temporary arrangements. In an existing building and desired that immediate needs to run the institution should be assessed and chalk out future plans at the earliest.


The Governor also highly eulogized the support and cooperation of the Pak Army in running the Cadet College Razmak on temporary basis in its premises and further pointed out that he will also welcome the cooperation of Pak Army in developing a seat of higher learning at the site in future.


The Secretary to Governor, Muhammad Abid Majeed was present on this occasion while the Principal of the college, Col Tahir Qayyum apprised the Governor about the prevailing state of working of the institution as well as future needs in this connection.


Talking on various points the Governor advised the concerned authorities to furnish the details of the requirements of the college to the FATA Secretariat and keep the respective authorities up-dated in this connection.


He also highly appreciated the spirit and hard work of the management of the college in carrying forward its academic pursuits of desired standards even in a temporary arrangement and assured every possible support and cooperation in making this possible in future too.


This institution, he remarked, with an appreciable track record of impressive achievements deserves to be encouraged and further desired that the cadets should be facilitated to the desired level. But at the same time, he added, they should also be educated, trained and brought up realistically too.


Meanwhile, the Governor was informed that though the college is being run in a temporary arrangement, yet, it is also be ensured that the cadets should get the required standards of educational and training facilities.
