Matric exams start today amid students reservations

Parents and students express reservations while going to examination centers in violence-hit areas.

308,000 candidates are set to appear in Annual Secondary School Certificate (Matriculation) Examination this year. About 250 centers have been arranged in different areas of the city in which 70 centers are being set up in areas declared as sensitive by the government.Students from different schools along with their parents staged protests outside the board office. During the protest, most of the students regretted that they can not concentrate on the paper due to the tense situation outside the examination centers.In response to the students reservations, the examination controller of matric board reiterated that effective steps have been taken to avoid untoward situation near examination centers.
