Minister stresses the need to amend social media laws
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has said police are investigating the murder case of CTD DSP Ali Raza in the perspective of Lyari Gang.
Talking to the media, Ziaul Hassan said the martyrdom of DSP Ali Raza will not go waste, adding his sacrifice will bring peace in Karachi.
He said it is the sacrifice of the policemen which has brought peace and harmony in Karachi.
The minister said there was a need to amend social media laws, adding the Sindh government had given the suggestion of shutting down social media during the first ten days of Muharram.
“Robbers of Katcha area will be dealt with in according to law. We have a plan for those robbers who surrender to police. We had suggested that the relatives of bandits of Katcha area should be given five-acre land for agriculture,” the minister said.
Sindh Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan said the government has called a meeting of Ulema for peaceful Muharram.
The minister said the government has given a briefing to President Asif Ali Zardari on law and order in the province.
The minister Katcha operation was aimed at eliminating hideouts of robbers, stressing them to surrender to police. The minister said three abductees were rescued from bandits during Katcha operation.
