CTD arrests seven terrorists in 59 IBOs

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claims to have arrested seven terrorists during 59 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) carried out in several cities of Punjab.
According to the CTD spokesperson, the operations were carried out in Lahore, Kasur, Sargodha, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar.
The security forces arrested three key terrorists of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Lahore during an operation.
Explosive material, an improvised explosive device (IED), weapons, mobile phones and cash were recovered from the suspects.
The terrorists were planning to target some important installations in the province.
The terrorists were identified as Khan Zaman, Shah Muhammad, Abid, Khalid Mehmood, Azeem, Ahmad Shah and Noor.
As many as 3,539 suspects were arrested by the CTD in 360 combing operations this week, while 14,720 people were interrogated by the law-enforcement agency (LEA).
The spokesperson added that the CTD was committed to rooting out the menace of terrorism from Punjab in a bid to ensure security of the citizens.
