KARACHI (Dunya News) – A robber was killed and seven were arrested in six alleged police encounters in different areas of the city.
In the first incident, an alleged robber was killed whereas his accomplice escaped during an exchange of fire with the police at Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Police were informed that two rubbers were planning to plunder people in an area.
Police reached the spot when the suspects opened fire on them, which was retaliated in a befitting manner.
In the skirmish, a robber was killed and his accomplice escaped.
Valuables and weapons were recovered from him.
Further investigation was under way. Police claimed that the outlaws broke into a house during a marriage ceremony and took away cash and valuables worth Rs10million.
In other different incidents, six alleged robbers were arrested.
These police encounters took place in different areas including Gulistan Johar, Macher Colony, Hassanabad, Bahadurabad and Lyari area.
A hand grenade, pistols, bullets and looted valuables were recovered from the arrested robbers.
Meanwhile, a youngster was murdered during a scuffle.
In Bolton Market, a youth was murdered during a fighting between two groups.
The youth was stabbed to death by his rivals.
Police were investigating.
