The couple had contracted love marriage and bride’s father was unhappy over it
GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) - Three people including a newly-wed couple were gunned down over a love marriage in Dahlay police area here on Thursday, police said.
According to the police, Ashraf, father of the girl, called his daughter, son-in-law and his mother to his house for reconciliation.
When they came to his house, he and his other relatives opened fire and killed them on the spot, and fled.
The victims were identified as Abbas, Laiba and Shama.
The couple had contracted love marriage a few days ago, but the girl’s father was not happy with this marriage.
On the day of the incident, he, along with his other accomplices, hatched a plan to kill them. He called them to his house on the pretext of making peace in the two estranged families.
Police are investigating. Dead bodies were sent for postmortem.
