BAHAWALNAGAR (Dunya News) – Two alleged robbers died and as many were injured in a crossfire with police near Chak-175.
In the gun battle, two policemen too were injured, who were shifted to a nearby hospital. Their condition was stated to be out of danger.
Police got information that four robbers stormed a factory and were busy looting valuables and cash.
A police party rushed to the scene. On seeing the police, the robbers started indiscriminate firing. Police responded effectively and killed two robbers. Their two accomplices were arrested after being injured.
The robbers were history-sheeter and involved in dozens of robbery and looting incidents, police said.
According to the police, they were also involved in the killing of a trader after snatching cash and valuables from him. Further investigation is under way.
