Police foil bid to smuggle weapons, arrest five in Kohat

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Police claim to have foiled a terrorism bid by acting efficiently in Kohat, seizing a large quantity of ammunition during the operation.
Police arrested five suspects including four Levi Khassadar near Marai checkpoint and recovered a large quantity of ammunition and deadly weapons from their possession.
According to Operations SP Zahid Khan, among the arrested suspects were four members of the Levi Khassadar who were attempting to smuggle weapons in a government vehicle. He said the terrorists were trying to smuggle weapons from Orakzai agency to Dara Adam Khel.
The recovered weapons included a rocket launcher, anti-aircraft guns, 18 rocket shells, and 20 rocket boosters, 13 hand grenades, two SMG guns, and around 3,000 cartridges.
The personnel of Levi Khassadar were immediately suspended from their duties for their involvement in smuggling. Police have registered a case against the suspects at the Astarzai police station.
