Complainant informed police after calling accused to collect extortion money
KARACHI (Dunya News) - National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested two suspects involved in extortion after threatening innocent citizens by using the name of the accountability bureau.
The suspects were arrested from Clifton area who used to demand money by identifying themselves as NAB officers on phone calls, plaintiff Naseer Yasin said.
The complainant called the accused to collect the extortion money and informed the police, police has said. The both arrested suspects include Jamil and Bilal.
The accused were sent by two of their gang associates Saqib and Javed to collect the money, police officials said. Efforts are going on to arrest absconding accused Javed and Saqib.
A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway, police told.
