DG Prisons Punjab establishes 5-member investigative team that will submit report within 24 hours
GUJRAT (Dunya News) - Three police officials who were taken captive inside the Gujrat district Jail have been freed, marking a significant development in the case of prisoners’ riots there.
The hostages were wounded on their hands and faces by the convicts using sharp-edged instruments, Dunya News reported. Injured officers Aftab, Azmat and Sohail Aziz have been shifted to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital.
Talks with the convicts in Gujarat jail have failed even after eight hours while on the other hand DG Prisons Punjab has established a five-member investigative team. The committee will submit its report on the rioting in Gujarat prison within the next 24 hours.
DIG Prison Rawalpindi Saeedullah Gondal, AIG Establishment Ishtiaq Gul included, Superintendent District Jail Attock, Superintendent District Jail Sialkot Zaheer Ahmed and Rana Jamshed have been included in the committee.
