Allegations of embezzlements in university funds prove against VC IUB
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Allegations of embezzlements in university funds were proven against the vice-chancellor (VC) of Islamia University, Bahawalpur (IUB) Dr Athar Mehboob on Friday resulting in a summary for removing him from the post.
The VC was being probed for funds allotted for Cultural day. As per reports, the VC had recruited people without inviting applications through advertisements, and inexperienced professionals were recruited for teaching. The VC also bought a luxury car with public funds.
The inspection team has requested Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi to denotify him as the VC as well as forwarding the case to the anti-corruption unit.
