Suspect in university student killing case arrested

The deceased was a third-year student of petroleum department of NED University.
KARACHI (Web Desk) - Police have arrested one of the two suspects who killed an NED University student at Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi on Thursday.
According to police sources, a five-member committee was formed by Additional IG Javed Alam Odho and it conducted overnight operations and arrested one of the suspects, Nizam, at 3am by using latest technology. The suspect confessed to having committed several crime incidents during the investigation, while the weapon allegedly used in the crime had also been recovered, police said.
Police said the suspect was injured in a police encounter in the past and was incarcerated. Later, he was released on bail after just eight days.
Bilal Nasir, a 21-year-old student of NED University, was shot dead on Thursday evening after he resisted a robbery outside his institution on University Road. The deceased was a resident of Federal B area and a third-year student of petroleum department.
