Man gets 14 years in prison for ‘attempting to rape’ 8-year-old girl
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar on Tuesday sentenced a security guard to 14 years in prison for the heinous crime of attempting to rape an 8-year-old girl despite the settlement of the plaintiff’s case.
During the hearing in the local court of Islamabad, public prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas pleaded the case on behalf of the state, while a case was registered against security guard Sohail Akhtar in Tarnol police station on January 11 that the girl was called from the house on the pretext of giving water and the guard tried to rape girl in the cabin.
According to details, when the girl’s family reached after hearing the girl’s noise, the accused ran away.
