Gang involved in alleged kidnapping for ransom arrested in Karachi
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Karachi rangers and police on Thursday arrested a 9-membered gang involved in kidnapping for ransom across the city.
According to details, out of 9 people who were found guilty, two belonged to police department, two to customs department while one was the member of court staff.
Colonel Lieutenant Sindh Rangers Qalandars wing Sikandar said that the accused had kidnapped a gold smith from Gulshan-e-Maymar and had released him after taking ransom.
Colonel Lieutenant Sikandar, Sindh Rangers SSP Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) Usman said that the accused have been using the unregistered whatsapp number to trace out people before kidnapping.
SSP AVCC Maroof Usman said that the gang admitted carrying out various other rampant crimes and owned six non-custom paid cars. Moreover, police has also seized an amount of Rs2970, 000 from gang s custody.
