Sheikhupura: Woman raped, set on fire and thrown into canal
SHEIKHUPURA (Dunya News) - A woman was raped after abduction, set on fire and then thrown into a canal in Sheikhupura.
As per details, the woman was admitted to a hospital in critical condition and the accused was arrested after the incident.
According to police the accused wanted to marry the girl who was resident of Ahmed Kot Abdul Malik, but she got married to another man, which made the accused upset.
The victim s husband lives abroad for work, the accused abducted the woman and took her near Khanpur canal and raped her.
The accused later sprayed petrol on the woman, set her on fire and threw her into the canal. Hearing the woman s cries for help, passersby informed the police. Rescue 1122 pulled the woman out of the canal and shifted her to Mayo Hospital Lahore in critical condition.
