Three held for their alleged involvement in human smuggling

The City police officials arrested the suspects and recovered Rs100,000 from them

MARDAN (Online) - The Mardan police have claimed to arrest three suspects for allegedly involved in human smuggling business and recovered Rs50,000 from their possession.

They allegedly minted money from innocent people on the pretext of sending abroad on fake visas.

According to the statement by the police, the plaintiff Salman, a resident of Bajlighar, told the City police station that the suspects, identified as Iran Gul, Mohammad Zahid, residents of Khyber Agency, and Ghaffar, a resident of Par Hoti, committed to take him to Turkey.

He further told that they brought him to Iran where the police caught him and tore his passport and beat him up while keeping him in custody.

Later, Ghaffar’s servant who was present there released him from the police and transferred him to an unknown place in the mountains and tied him with a rope where he was tortured.

Later Ghaffar contacted victims family members on phone and demanded Rs200,000 more, which his family paid as ransom amount .

The City police officials arrested the suspects and recovered Rs100,000 from them. The police have started investigations and more revelations are expected.
