Suspect in murder of JUI's Mufti Ikramullah, two others arrested

The suspect was arrested from Hangu.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Police and other law enforcement agencies have arrested suspect in murder of of JUI leader Mufti Ikramullah, his son and student from Hangu.

According to police, the suspect Shahid-ur-Rehman, who belongs to tribal district Orakzai, was arrested at a checkpoint in Bagtu area and was shifted to undisclosed location for further investigation.

It is pertinent to mention here that residents of Bara Kahu and family of the victims on Sunday blocked Murree Road as they protested with the bodies of slain mosque prayer leader, his son and a student.

The protesters blocked both the tracks of the road in Bara Kahu, causing a massive gridlock and demanded immediate arrest of the assailants.

However, after assurances from the officials the protestors dispersed with warning of more protests if criminals not arrested.

On the other, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of JUI-F, strongly condemned the killing and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
