Quetta: Accused arrested for drugging, robbing train passengers
QUETTA (Dunya News) - Railway Police of Quetta Division arrested an accused involved in drugging and robbing passengers in the trains and recovered cash and mobile phone from his possession.
SP Railway Police Wazir Ali while addressing a press conference at Railway Police Station said that accused Anas Ikram was involved in looting trains passengers for a long time. Several cases were registered against the accused in Railway Police Stations and various police stations.
The SP said that the railway police arrested the accused Anas Ikram, resident of Dera Ghazi Khan on February 16 from Sibi from Jafar Express who had planned to commit a robbery.
Police also recovered Rs 50,000 cash and a mobile phone from the possession of the accused. Apart from trains, the accused also robbed passengers in buses. Ten cases were registered against the accused in different police stations and was an absconder.
He said that the accused was a software engineer who was robbing the passengers through various ways after taking them into confidence. SP Wazir Ali said that help was also being sought from other law enforcers for further investigation of the accused.
