Customs seizes goods worth millions, arrests three passengers at Karachi airport
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Customs officials have seized goods and parcels worth Rs10 million and arrested three passengers in 3 different operations at Karachi Airport.
According to Deputy Collector Customs Jinnah Terminal Inam Wazir, a passenger traveling from Karachi to Dubai by a private airline had hidden one kilogram of silver and 110 grams of gold in his luggage. The passenger was arrested after seizing the gold.
Deputy Collector Customs said that during another operation at the airport, two passengers were arrested from whom watches, mobile phones and other electronic items were recovered. The value of the recovered items was Rs10 million.
Customs officials foiled an attempt to smuggle parcels to Brazil in a third operation at the airport. According to the Deputy Collector of Customs, antique coins were recovered from a book parcel in North Nazim Karachi.
