ANF seizes drugs worth more than Rs50 million during operations

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) officials have foiled an attempt to transfer a large consignment of drugs.

According to ANF officials, vehicles were being checked at Patoki Toll Plaza on a tip-off, during which drugs worth millions of rupees were recovered from the vehicles and three accused were arrested.

According to ANF officials, seized drugs worth more than Rs50 million. Further investigation has been started after registering cases against the arrested accused.

The second operation was carried out by the ANF at Islamabad Airport. In the operation, 400 grams of drugs were recovered from the bag of a passenger travelling to Bahrain. The accused has been shifted to the ANF headquarters for further investigation.

Earlier on December 11, the Anti-Narcotics Force at the federal capital Islamabad Airport foiled a large number of drug smuggling attempts on the basis of intelligence and seized drugs.

A spokesman for the ANF said, officials at the scene have arrested two women travelling to Jeddah, and registered a case after nine packets of illicit drugs were found in their bags weighing more than 8 kg.
