Anti Narcotics dept recovers 45kg ice, 24kg heroin in Dera Ismail Khan
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department has seized 45kg of ice and 24kg of heroin worth millions of rupees.
According to details, a large quantity of drugs was recovered during an operation on a tip-off on Daraband Road in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, worth millions in the international market. While one accused was also arrested, against whom a case has been registered in DI Khan police station.
On the other hand, the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has foiled bid to smuggle drugs abroad. ANF sources said the accused, a resident of Peshawar, was trying to smuggle drugs to Sharjah.
However, ANF personnel took timely action and recovered more than 1.5kg of ice from the possession of the accused and registered a case.
In another operation, ANF team foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs from Afghanistan into Pakistan at Torkham border.
According to ANF officials, the accused were smuggling Ecstasy tablets to Pakistan. However, the operation resulted in the arrest of three accused while 700 tablets were recovered from their possession.
