Police obtain samples after exhumation of newlywed bride burnt to death in Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police have obtained samples for postmortem after exhumation of newlywed bride who was allegedly killed by her in-laws in New Karachi.

According to details, Tahira Victor of Shah Faisal Colony came to New Karachi after getting married in July. A few days after the marriage, fights started with the in-laws. One day a fire broke out in the kitchen and Tahira Victor was burnt to death.

The in-laws of Tahira said that a fire broke out in the stove and her clothes caught fire, she was burnt to death due to an accident. But Tahira’s family did not call it an accident but murder. The case was registered and Tahira was buried under the supervision of a magistrate.

Tahira’s family has said that the police have arrested five suspects and they want them to be punished.

The police surgeon has obtained samples from the body after exhuming the grave. Investigating officers said that after the chemical examination, it will be known whether there was an accident or a murder.
