102 Islamabad police personnel involved in criminal activities: Interior Ministry
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A report submitted in the Senate has revealed that more than 100 Islamabad police personnel, including several officers, were found to be involved in criminal activities.
A report tabled in the Senate by the Interior Ministry revealed that 102 Islamabad police personnel were involved in criminal activities, including two inspectors, five sub-inspectors, 16 ASIs, 7 head constables and 69 constables. Three informants were also found involved in various crimes.
The report said that 72 criminal cases have been registered against the police officials and 20 policemen have been sacked. 14 officials were suspended while salary deductions and fines were imposed on 12 others.
Inquiries are underway against 10 federal police personnel involved in crimes while 46 have been acquitted.
