Peshawar police foils major weapons smuggling ploy
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Peshawar police foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons in an operation on Friday, recovering a large stash of arms and ammunition from a truck and arresting the smuggler.
According to police, an operation was carried out on Ring Road near Paharipura police station. A suspicious truck was stopped in the blockade and upon checking, 34 Kalashnikovs, 68 rifles of various gauges, 14 pistols, 30,000 cartridges, 325 butt stocks, and five sacks of spare parts were recovered.
According to police, these weapons were being smuggled to Punjab. One smuggler was arrested and further investigation is underway.
