Suspect on physical remand dies in Lahore police custody
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A suspect, who was on physical remand in the custody of Manawan Investigation Police, has died at the hospital after alleged police torture.
According to police sources, Manawan police had arrested a man named Mushtaq whose condition deteriorated due to the alleged violence. After this, the police took him to PIC Hospital where he died of a heart attack.
Taking notice of the incident, IG Punjab has sought a report from CCPO Lahore.
Police have said that Mushtaq died in the hospital. He was in police custody on the charge of attempted murder. The body of the deceased has been shifted to the morgue and with more details to be revealed after the postmortem.
