SHO, five subordinates suspended after two suspects escape in Karachi
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Two accused in theft case have escaped from police custody after breaking the door of Korangi Industrial area Police Station in Karachi. Four officials, including the Station House Officer (SHO) and the head secretary, were suspended for negligence.
Police say the suspects broke down the lockup door and fled through the second room. The accused were arrested in the theft case. Four officials, including the SHO and the head Diarists, were suspended for negligence. A case of negligence was also registered against Korangi Industrial Area Police. Two officials have also been arrested and are being investigated.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi Faisal Chachar said that accused Usman and Noor Hayat escaped from the police station at 3 pm last night. Both the accused were arrested in the theft case and were in police custody on remand. Inquiry into the incident has been handed over to Superintendent Of Police (SP) Landhi Shahnawaz.
