One killed, eight injured in student unions brawl at IIUI

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - One student killed while eight others sustained critical injuries at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) after a fight broke out between two student unions.

According to Dunya News, two students unions were involved in a brawl which even the police failed to handle. Following the failure of the police, Rangers arrived at the spot and took the situation in control.

Liaqat Baloch, general secretary of Jamma-e-Islami, was also present at the time of the incident. The situation got out of control, and was worsened after both of the unions exchanged fires at each other. The clash claimed the life of a student named Taufeel. The injured were shifted to PIMS hospital for medical assistance.

Deputy Commissioner informed that Rangers have been posted at the university, and search for the culprits has already initiated.
