Sialkot Customs foils currency smuggling bid, arrests suspect

The suspect tried to smuggle Rs940,000 worth of Pakistani currency in total.

SIALKOT (Dunya News) – Customs officials Monday foiled local currency smuggling bid in a timely manner at Sialkot International Airport.

According to the details, Sialkot Customs officials seized the smuggling currencies, while the suspect was also arrested during the operation. Accused Amjad Hussain was flying to Dubai on private airline flight EK620.

The accused is a resident of Kotla Arab Ali Khan. The arrested suspect tried to smuggle Rs940,000 worth of Pakistani currency in total.

According to customs officials, passengers can carry 3000 Pakistani currency. Customs officials have shifted the passenger to the dry port where further investigation is underway.
