Municipal committee operation leaves four shopkeepers injured in Rahim Yar Khan
Four injured people have been shifted to the hospital for medical help following the clash.
RAHIM YAR KHAN (Dunya News) - The municipal committee staff conducted an operation to evacuate shops, which allegedly tortured shopkeepers, during which a clash ensued, leaving four people injured.
According to Dunya News, the municipal committee staff paid no heed to the orders of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar and Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR), and forcibly attacked the shopkeepers turning the area into a battlefield.
According to sources, four injured people have been shifted to the hospital for medical help. As soon as the dispute was reported, the Assistant Commissioner arrived at the School Bazar with a heavy contingent of police force.
The shopkeepers said that in 2007, the Punjab Chief Minister ordered to give ownership of 470 kanals and 17 marlas of rural lands. In 2016, the ADCR ruled that the TMA was dismissed for lack of evidence.
Meanwhile, the affected shopkeepers protested and slammed the DC office, protestors demanded notice from Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar.
