IG Punjab advises police to participate in flood relief activities

IG Punjab advised police to perform duties in the spirit of public service and safety.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Inspector General Police Punjab Capt (R) Arif Nawaz Khan on Wednesday said that rescue teams should keep patrolling in the villages and settlements existing around the rivers and participate in flood relief activities. 

According to Dunya News, the IG Punjab has issued instructions to the police force in view of the threat of floods. In a wireless broadcast message, police have been directed to take part in flood relief activities in districts near rivers including Kasur and Pakpattan.

He added that police teams should participate in other relief activities, including the transfer of citizens to safer places in the alarming situation of urban floods.

Arif Nawaz Khan further said that the police force should also keep close coordination with other agencies engaged in relief activities. Police officers should perform duties in the spirit of public service for the protection of the lives and property of the people, he added.
